WHAT IS MULTIMEDIA ?

Multimedia today means content that combines text, images, video, audio, animations, and interactivity. It differs from media in that media only uses basic computer displays, like the materials that are text-only, hand-produced or printed. 

• Multimedia content can be experienced through computers and electronic devices, and also through live performances.
• They are stored in electronic media devices called multimedia systems.
• It is different from mixed media in visual art in that it includes audio, thus having a broader scope.
• The term "rich media" was synonymous with interactive multimedia in the early years of multimedia, and "hypermedia" was a multimedia application.
