- He is an experienced professional in the field who understands the market, the needs of his clients and the organization, and the details of the specialized tasks that produce the end result.
- He seldom directly participates in these specialized tasks. Instead, he leads the project by managing the team, setting objectives and deadlines for every member and ensuring proper communication between them.
2. Multimedia designers
The multimedia designer is an umbrella term that describes professionals who typically deal with visuals which include raster and vector graphics, animation, and interface. These professionals may be:

UX is short for user experience. This is a relatively new field and it concerns itself with the product from the perspective of the user. UX designers combine their understanding of psychology and design theory to design products that engage the user or are easy to use. An example of good UX design is a ketchup bottle with its lid at the bottom, making it easier to pour ketchup on the plate.
ii. Graphic designers
Graphic designers combine their understanding of colors, typography, raster graphics and vector graphics with design theory to create aesthetically pleasing visuals. A graphic designer may create logos, fonts, and layouts, usually for printed or published material, like books, magazines or brochures.
iii. Web designers
Web designers work with UX designers and graphic designers to create mock-ups and layouts for web pages using design tools like Adobe Photoshop. Once their design is approved, they then transfer their files to web developers who write code to create the final website and deploy it on the web.
3. Video Specialist/ Videographer
- Video specialists in a multimedia agency capture, edit and assemble recorded raw video footage into finished products, that may include dialogue, sound, and graphic effects.
- These videos are usually promotions, trailers, and advertisements that capture the attention of viewers to get them to act. The rising popularity of YouTube means they are increasingly creating and editing videos and films for content creators to keep the viewers engaged for a long time.
4. Audio Specialist / Sound Engineer
- Audio specialists are experts that create sound, and balance and adjust sources of sound with specialized equipment. They are also responsible for recording audio and selecting appropriate soundtracks for broadcasts.
5. Multimedia Writer/ Script Writer
- Multimedia writers write content for services that millions of people use or see daily, from video games to movies, to websites and applications.
- Their duties can range from writing promotional marketing content to stories for video games and movies.
- When creating marketing content, they may also conduct their own research.
- Their varied duties require them to have a high command of language proficiency along with critical thinking and a deep understanding of emotional intelligence and human psychology.
6. Programmer
The programmers write code integrates all the multimedia elements into one project. Like the designer, the programmer is a broad term covering multiple disciplines. The most popular disciplines in multimedia are:
i. Client-side programming
Client-side programmers take the design mockups and create the front end of websites and web/mobile applications. The code for the client is most primarily written in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
ii. Server-side programming
Server-side programmers write code for the server that works behind the scenes of every website and application, making the whole program possible in the first place. Some of the most popular programming languages for server-side programming are PHP, Python, and Java.
iii. Game programming
Game programmers work with artists and designers to create game engines and scripts that put all the art assets and the storyline together to create a video game. Game programmers need to have a strong understanding of computer science, software engineering and physics to create successful games, and usually use powerful programming languages like C++ and C#.
